In 2016 Solen came and photographed the wedding of long time Colstoun residents Alex & Helen, since then we've built a relationship and friendship, so when Solen approached me with the concept of using Colstoun for a photo shoot I jumped at the opportunity.
Solen strives to be creative & unique in every shoot she photographs and when I heard she had teamed up with Claire from Those Were the Days in Edinburgh I was really excited to see what the results of this collaboration would be.
Those Were The Days is a gem of a vintage shop hidden away on St Stephen Street in Stockbridge Edinburgh, they are specialists in vintage bridal wear and have a fabulous bridal showroom in their Edinburgh boutique. They have a beautiful, rare and ever changing bridal collection that is internationally sourced with products spanning over 60 years, these includes gowns, dresses, suits, jewellery and accessories such as veils, tiaras, hats, headpieces and parasols, a real treasure chest of vintage wedding goodies.
Claire had a strong vision for this shoot she wanted, she wanted people to feel the late 60s & early 70s music festival scene, photographically she wanted it to feel open and light and to feel as though the wind was flowing through your hair at one of the great music festivals of that time, Woodstock, Isle of Wight or early Glastonbury.
With the ideas flowing she set about building a team to create her vision, Solen, Cori & Robbie worked tirelessly to build on this concept to create the final product, luckily they couldn't have asked for much of a better day, the wind picked up just a bit which worked perfectly along side Tia & Ruth dancing to create the beautiful windswept images, the light was perfect and the team were all brilliant and the results speak for themselves. If you'd like any information on any of the suppliers or team that worked on the shoot links to all of them are below.
